We recently had the pleasure of dining at Frida and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! Ariel was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They offered excellent recommendations, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Whether it was ensuring our water glasses were full, checking in on our satisfaction with each course, or simply engaging in pleasant conversation, Ariel's service was impeccable and showed a remarkable dedication to their craft.

Gourmet fusion Mexican restaurant in Grand Velas Resort. The interior was really warm and cosy and each dish was an experience especially their soups. Everything was super tasty and you could taste nice Mexican spices after each bite. Really recommended. Don’t forget to book your table.

I recently dined at Frida inside the Grand Velas Resort in Playa Del Carmen, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is lively and vibrant, with live music adding to the energetic ambiance. While the noise level can be a bit loud, it actually creates a warm, family-friendly environment where everyone feels welcome. The menu is both family friendly and sophisticated, perfectly satisfying a foodie like me. I was especially impressed with how well the restaurant handled my dietary needs. The staff was knowledgeable about food allergies and worked closely with me to provide gluten free and fish only options. Their attentiveness made me feel confident and cared for throughout the meal. Every course was delicious, but my soup was a standout: a shrimp and tomato based dish that was bursting with flavor. The kitchen graciously modified it to exclude cheese and mayo, which I don't eat, and I honestly wouldn’t have wanted it any other way, it was fantastic. For my entree, I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The preparation highlighted the freshness of the fish, with flavors that complemented it beautifully. It’s rare to find salmon cooked so well; it was tender, moist, and simply perfect. The only minor hiccup of the evening was some confusion with our drink order at the start, but the waiter handled it quickly and professionally, ensuring it didn’t detract from our experience. Overall, Frida exceeded my expectations with incredible food, accommodating service, and a vibrant atmosphere that’s perfect for families or anyone looking to enjoy a lively dining experience. I highly recommend it!

The best restaurant on the resort. Honestly top notch offerings and we loved our waiter Victor. The wine list by the glass is also terrific.

Greta atmosphere and decoration. The food is superb, and it has a pretty decent wine list. Service according to the level of the restaurant. A very good experience.

We recently visited Grand Velas for a family Spring Break vacation. We ate at all the restaurants on the property with the exception of Cocina De Autor. Frida and Lucca were our favorites. The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. I had the best filet of my life. My wife was extremely happy with her salmon as well.It was a fantastic dining experience for the entire family. Don’t miss out if you are in the area or visiting Grand Velas.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. My wife and I came on night one of our honeymoon and Julio went above and beyond to insure we had a great experience. The food and atmosphere was amazing. Everything was so good but the dessert was unbelievable. They even made a special plate to celebrate our honeymoon. Also loved the woman who sang during dinner.
